Home for the Holidays

Well... our 'Home for the Holidays' has turned into 'Home for the Happy New Year.' That's okay. I'm over it now. There was a travel saga thanks to the wonderfully beautiful snowy crappy New England weather. Actually, had Caveman's flight schedule been on time he'd have arrived last Friday and would be going home day after tomorrow. Now, he'll be here tomorrow morning (yippee!) and will be here through next Sunday. I'm excited. We'll have a belated Christmas this Sunday and then New Year's next Wednesday. Should be a fun week. I'll work a little just because the shop is short the usual staff but will be off the majority of the time. Nola will enjoy her stick from Cape Cod that we left in Boston. She's excited about that stick.

July & August Video

(Foliage in Vermont, coming soon!)

Change of Plans...

So, we didn't make it up to New York for Thanksgiving. Instead, Nola came along and we went to Cape Cod. It's a long story but I'll save it for a rainy day (really, I will!). Here's a post about our trip! Enjoy! (And yes, at some point I'll get around to actually posting the pictures and video here!)

Hmm, I just realized I never posted the video from July and August. I'll do that now...

Vermont

Once upon a time Spaghetti dreamed about going to Vermont. She imagined rolling hills and apple orchards, fresh markets and maple syrup. Upon learning this, Caveman decided they must visit this highly romanticized, distance land. He booked reservations at the Stowe Inn and in October, off they went!

Vermont was exactly what Spaghetti imagined!

There were even Christmas trees -- that grew everywhere!

Christmas trees also lined the trail paths...there's nothing like
cool, crisp air and the fragrance of Christmas.

Back in Boston for a few days...

Pond fun

Since I'm feeling bloggy...

August birthday festivities!

(don't ask...)

Puppies!

For the record...one of us likes puppies. The other.... eh....

Piper is the one with brown and tan spots...
Blogger uploaded the wrong picture.
The one I wanted to upload was of Piper being born.
And no, it's not my fault it's truely the fault of Blogger.
Anyway, this was Aug. 30th at about 10:30pm right after the
first 6 were born (2 more came later!).

Piper at 1 week!

I really love the puppies!

Piper at 2 weeks!

Ralphie Charged...Twice!

And yes, I screamed...in D's ear at that (sorry!)... Apparently Ralphie is not as friendly as he looks... Nola no longer willingly walks by the edge of the pond. That's right, I carry her from the sidewalk to the edge to potty. Such is life... next up, revenge for the Ralphies!

Wow!

Wow this is great!! Before this blog the only avenue I figured we had to get everyone up to date with our life adventures was to make an appearance on Jerry Springer. I hope to see a webcam feature added in the future but for now I’ll go ahead and cancel our Jerry Springer appearance with the midgets gone wild since this blog is up and running!

The Muskrat

Meet Ralphie...

Meet Ralphie! He lives with Susie (aka Susu) in the pond beside my house. I've seen Ralphie almost every night since having Nola. He is usually on the banks and swims away when we walk near him. Tonight, we saw Ralphie OUT of the water -- AND saw Susu!!! Susu made her way back into the water by the time I got my camera out so Ralphie was the only one out for picture time. He let me get about three feet away and I could have touched his tail had I leaned forward a little more. He has a little bit of white on his nose and didn't seem to feel threatened at all! Way to go Ralphie! For the record, bird people like animals so we discussed Ralphie and Susu for quite a while tonight. We even wikipedia'ed muskrats to learn more. (Yes, wikipedia is a verb.)

One more that wouldn't fit below...

Welcome...

Welcome!

...to the official launch of The Bird People blog! This is where we will post details from phone calls, of travel schedules, dinner plans, outings, and road trips. If you'd like to know what we eat for dinner each day, feel free to ask. This blog will serve as your window to life for people who feed the birds. Enjoy!
